Misa Tanzania's Information and Research Officer, Ngasirigwa Sengiyumvya opened the training at the Tanzania Glogal Learning Agency
( TaGLA) in Dar es Salaam on October 14th, 2013 by thanking Journalists
from different media houses who came all the way from different parts of the
country to attend this Investigative Internet training.
After the opening remarks, Training Consultant, Peik Johansson
from Finland took over and asked participants to introduce themselves, where they are from,
as well as explain what they expect from this three days training.
After the introduction session, Peik lead the class on how to
start the blog, every participant managed to start his/ her own blog before
going for tea beak.
During the process of starting the blog, the trainer also asked
the participants to express themselves and publish their explanation in their
blogs.
On the second day we continued doing exercise of how to find informations
from multiple sources throught internet as part of investigative journalism.
Trainers were also focused on how to link our stories with
other sources, and we were asked to write one short story, either of International
friendly football match between Zambia na Brazil, Smart Kigali, or about details
of President Uhuru Kenyatta charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
I chose to write about the President Kenyatta’s case, so I had to go about different sources via Google search engine, which have informations about the case including ICC website, Kenya's websites etc.
I managed to write it, I published it in my blog and link
the story with BBC website.
One day to go, happy Eid al Hajj.
